Course Notes: The 1908 race course was from Windsor Park to Wembley Park. For the 1909-1932 races, the course was from Windsor (Park or Castle) to the Stamford Bridge track. For the 1933-1937 races, the course was from Windsor Castle to the White City stadium. The course starting in 1938 was from Windsor Castle to Chiswick stadium with the following exceptions. The 1940 race was apparently held entirely within Windsor Great Park. For the 1941-1945 races, the course started and finished in Chiswick stadium. For the 1973-1987 races, the course was a loop starting and finishing in Windsor. Many smaller course alterations were made over the years.

Other Notes:

1999 Road works caused the course to be somewhat long.
1997=> races were local club events with one finisher in 1997 and two finishers each in 1998, 1999, and 2002
1973 Course is considered to have been short.
1972 Due to emergency road works, the course was about 3 miles (4.8 km) long.
1910 Race was not held due to the death of King Edward VII.
1908 Course was 22 miles 1420 yards (36.7 km).
